A 42-year old Peham man is in custody and facing charges after a standoff with police early Tuesday morning.
According to an Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office report, two women say Harold Wayne Pyle attempted to strangle them at a home north of Perham.
With assistance from Perham and New York Mills officers, sheriff's deputies were able to extract the women from the residence. Pyle initially refused to cooperate, staying behind.
Pyle proceeded to threaten law enforcement from the home during an impasse that lasted 14 hours. Finally, after hours of negotiations, Pyle was arrested without incident.
He is currently being held at the Otter Tail County jail on suspicion of domestic assault and making terroristic threats.
