The Long Prairie Department responded to a reported robbery at the Long Prairie Oil Company. The incident occurred last week, Wednesday night at approximately 7:58 p.m. When investigating the scene, police learned that three vehicles stopped at the business and wanted a bad tire changed on a white colored Cadillac Escalade. The other two vehicle were described as a Gray Jaugar and a light green Dodge Caravan with a left side sliding door window broken out which was sealed with plastic wrap. Both the Cadillac and the Jaugar had Wisconsin license plates. It was said the suspects distracted the lone employee by having him take the bad tire off and place a different sized tire back on the vehicle, which would not work on the vehicle. The suspects then left southbound on Highway 71. When the employee went back inside the business he discovered that cash and checks were taken from the cash register. The suspects were described as three black males and two black females with the possibility of some children. Long Prairie Police Department is investigating along with several other agencies. The Police Department is asking anyone with information on this crime to call the department at 320-732-2156.
