The Brainerd Lakes Marketplace event will be held on April 13 and 14 at the Brainerd Area Civic Center and Gold Medal Arena. This open-air market offers the ability to learn more about local vendors while enjoying local fare, park-like settings, live demonstrations and camaraderie. Starting the event off on Friday, April 13 is Senior Day. This event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will include special demonstrations and business offers for seniors. CHOWTime Luncheon will take place Friday as well from noon to 1 p.m. This monthly Chamber networking luncheon offers business card exchanges along with self-promotion of products or services in your company. Tickets for the luncheon are $5 in advance or $7 at the door. The last event on Friday will be a Party in the Park from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Party in the Park is a adult-orientated party that includes food samples, admission into the Brainerd Lakes Marketplace on Friday and entry into drawings. Tickets for the park party are $10 per person in advance or $15 at the door. Saturday, April 14 will be the Day of the Young Child. This event is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and includes performances by Will Hale from the Tadpole Parade, karate demonstrations, games, face painting, prizes and giveaways. During the Marketplace event, educational classes including cooking demonstrations, technology workshops and exercise classes will be offered approximately every hour. Admission to the Marketplace is $1 for adults and free for children 17 and younger. Also, all attendees will be entered in a drawing for door prizes, awarded throughout the event.
