Three people were found dead after a shooting at a daycare in Brooklyn Park. According to police, an unidentified mother dropped off her child at the daycare just before 6:30 a.m. As she was leaving, she noticed a man standing near the house. The woman drove off, but became suspicious and then called the house. It was said the woman was in mid-conversation with one of the adults when the line went dead. She then went back to the home and found that the three adults had been shot. The woman immediately got her child out, who wasn’t harmed, and called police. No one else was reported inside the home during the shooting. Police confirmed the victims were dead when they arrived to the scene. Under investigation, police discovered that a struggle between a male and female lead to the shooting at the daycare and that a male fled the scene on a bicycle. Sister-in-law Margaret Brown, identified the victims as 59-year-old DeLois Brown and DeLois’ parents. The search for the suspect ran into the afternoon, but no arrests were made that evening. Two nearby colleges were locked down for several hours after the shootings were reported during the morning. Both institutes were re-opened by the afternoon, after police spent the day searching the areas for the suspect. Several officers with police dogs searched west of the Hennepin Technical College and other policemen searched by the Xcel Energy Training Center. The suspect is described as a black male in his mid-20s and is riding a BMX-style bicycle. He was wearing blue jeans, a navy blue sweatshirt with a gray hood and two 1-inch stripes down the back.
