A Grand Forks woman has been charged with child endangerment after her 14-year-old son took pictures of her smoking methamphetamine in their apartment. Marsha Rae Bercier, 31, and Amanda Jackson-White were said to be smoking meth in front of Bercier’s three children aging between 1 and 14. According to reports, officers arrived at the apartment when they received a call from the 14-year-old boy that Bercier and her friend were smoking meth. Upon arrival, officers noticed a haze in the air and a chemical smell. Police read Bercier her rights after she admitted that she and Amanda were smoking meth with her children in the apartment. The Narcotics Task Force had found meth in the apartment as well as syringes and a spoon with residue in Jackson-White’s purse. Along with the child endangerment charge, the women were also charged with possession of methamphetamine. Both charges are a Class C felony, and carry a sentence up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine. Bercier and Jackson-White court hearing is set for May 30.
