Two families are fairly upset after a hospital in Virginia, Minnesota mixed up their newborn babies. A nurse at Virginia Regional Medical Center had brought a newborn to a mother to breast-feed, but it was later learned the baby wasn’t hers. Medical Center CEO Bill Smith said a nurse entered the wrong room with the baby and failed to match the newborn’s ID bracelet with the mother’s. Smith said the baby had the mother’s room number on the ID card, but the mother had changed rooms. Since the mix up, the hospital says it has changed its policies and has eliminated the card system. The father of one of the newborns, agitated, said his wife was breast-feeding the wrong child.
