A Frazee man was found guilty after he attempted to have intercourse with a young teen. A two-day jury trial found Troy Ray Gibson, 44, guilty on a felony charge of first degree criminal sexual conduct. Gibson was accused of attempted sex with a 12-year-old girl at his home on 31239 Valley View Rd., Frazee on August 18, 2010. According to the complaint, Gibson approached the young girl, who had run away from home and offered her a place to stay for the night, without telling her parents. The complaint also stated that the girl knew Gibson as the manager of the trailer park where her family lived and agreed to stay at his home for the night. It was said Gibson fed her and gave her several alcoholic beverages, which caused her to pass out. When the girl woke up, she found Gibson on top of her, moving against her and realized that her clothes were missing. She was able to get out from underneath Gibson and told him she wanted to go home. He then reportedly told the girl to not tell anyone what had happened or he would say that she was lying. Gibson’s sentencing for the felony charge is scheduled for May 21.
